May Day Fayre Leighton Buzzard
Attracting thousands of people to Leighton Buzzard it is a firm favourite on the local calendar. This family fun day is free to attend and is hosted by Leighton-Linslade Rotary Club. The High Street is taken over with live entertainment, stalls and fairground rides and spills into Parson’s Green Recreation Ground where the main arena is located. The arena hosts a full day of entertainment which has included stunt motorbikes, chainsaw juggling, BMX and fun entertainers. In many years the Rotarians manage to secure a fly-past of historic aeroplanes. It is great for adults and kids alike with more stalls, food and drink vendors to choose from. VE Day Celebrations
On Thursday, 8th May, we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a day that, in 1945, signified the end of war in Europe and the beginning of the end of WWII. At 9:30pm, parishes across the country will light beacons to symbolize the light of peace emerging from the darkness of war.
Leighton-Linslade is proud to be part of the national celebration, invited by Pageant master Bruno Peek CVO, OBE,OPR, to honour this momentous occasion.

Vintage Vibes at the Black Lion Sunday 4th May
The Black Lion in Leighton Buzzard High Street are fully embracing the celebrations, with sandbags banked against the front, black out in the windows and the garden festooned with bunting.

Celebration of 80th VE Day with Rock of Ages Choir – Thursday 8th 5-11pm
Meanwhile over at the Royal British Legion Club in Heath and Reach the Rock of Ages Choir invite everyone to entertainment with music from the 50’s & 60’s from the choir’ and then a chance to dance and singalong to music from the 40’s era. Entry payable on the door £7. https://fb.me/e/4GLYhTmDK
Luton International Carnival St Mary’s Road, Luton, LU1 3JA Sunday 25th May A truly spectacular parade through the streets of Luton from12pm www.carnivalarts.org.uk Jam-packed with family fun, from the colourful parade with spectacular traditional carnival costumes, to loads of music and lots of interactive, family-friendly activities. Milton Keynes Theatre presents, Mozarts, The Marriage of Figaro on Thursday 15th May. The Welsh National Opera bring the captivating tale of love, loyalty and mistaken identities, the quick-witted barber navigates the twists and turns of 18th century social intricacies with charm and humour, and clever schemes which will keep you guessing until the final note. Sense and Sensibility at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre
Elinor Dashwood has a lot of good Sense. Her sister Marianne Dashwood has an excess of Sensibility. Together they make a snappy title for Jane Austen’s classic novel of scandals, scoundrels and severely sprained ankles.
This funny, fast-paced and faithful new adaptation from the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company features live music, audience interaction, romance and heartbreak. Tickets

The ever popular Chiltern Hills Vintage Rally is back on Sunday 18th May featuring everything for the motoring enthusiast with many vintage clubs having stands and plenty of fun stalls to keep the kids amused too. More info here

Animal Fun
Fun Dog Show & Fayre fundraiser for Appledown Rescue and Rehoming Kennels LU6 1QY. Saturday 10th May from 11am. 12 classes and best-in-show plus stalls, barbecue and more entretainent. Entries on the day cost £2 per class.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry
