Rushmere Park Academy children learn life-saving first aid skills

Children at Rushmere Park Academy have been learning some important life-saving skills, thanks to a visit from Mini First Aid Bedfordshire & Luton.

In September, children from Reception through to Year 4 took part in Mini First Aid Kids sessions, learning practical first aid skills in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

The sessions gave the children the opportunity to learn what they could do if someone was hurt or became unwell, while helping them understand that first aid is a life skill that everyone can learn.

There were plenty of questions, lots of enthusiasm and some fantastic participation as the children explored how they could help someone in an emergency.

To celebrate their achievement, Mini First Aid Bedfordshire & Luton presented the school with a special Certificate of Congratulations, proudly carrying the message:

โ€œOur school can save a life.โ€

Mini First Aid Bedfordshire & Luton owner and trainer Isabelle Viac said: โ€œIt was fantastic to hear how enthusiastic the children were. We want children to understand that they don’t have to be a doctor or a nurse to help someone – knowing a few simple first aid skills could make a real difference in an emergency.

โ€œFirst aid really is a life skill, and we love being able to introduce these skills to children from such a young age.โ€

Mini First Aid Bedfordshire & Luton delivers age-appropriate first aid sessions for children from age 3 upwards, alongside first aid training for parents, carers, childcare professionals, schools and workplaces across Bedfordshire and Luton.
