Local Business Woman Brings National Small Business Saturday Tour to Leighton Buzzard
Leighton Buzzard is once again set to shine on the national stage as the Small Business Saturday Tour rolls into town on Thursday 27th November—thanks to the dedication and determination of local business woman Chloe Peters, who has spent the past several years championing the town’s thriving independent business community.
The nationwide tour, supported by BT, visits only a select number of UK Cities and Towns each year. Leighton Buzzard’s inclusion is the result of Chloe’s continued collaboration with the Small Business Saturday UK team, local councils, and dozens of independent businesses who make the town’s high street vibrant, resilient, and full of character.
Chloe, founder of Jam on Toast Marketing and Co-Director of The Bee’s Knees Business Club CIC, has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate the visit—mapping out the tour route, curating the list of independent businesses to be featured, and ensuring the spotlight falls on some of the town’s innovators, makers, and retailers who make Leighton Buzzard unique.
“Our small businesses are the heartbeat of this town,” said Chloe.
“They’re creative, determined, rooted in community—and they deserve national recognition. Bringing the tour here isn’t just about one day; it’s about celebrating the people who keep our high street alive all year round.”
This year’s tour stop will begin with a welcome from David Bligh,Leighton-Linslade Town Mayor, followed by an interview with The Baker Boy, before the team visits a selection of much-loved independents including The Refill, The Bottle House, The Funky Snake Escape Room, Mimic Gifts, BOOK, Bits & Buds, and Elite Law. The day will conclude with a celebratory gathering in Peacock Mews.
In addition to the in-person event, businesses and residents can join the Digital Tour, which offers free daily webinars from experts on marketing, finance, digital tools, and small business strategy: Small Business Saturday UK | Another year making a Big Difference!
As the festive season begins, the tour aims to inspire shoppers to support local, celebrate home-grown entrepreneurship, and recognise the contribution small businesses make to the local economy.
