Our Guide to the Biggest Annual Events in the Leighton Buzzard area
You can follow the latest what’s on in the Bee Local latest print magazine and on our LB News pages but in this guide we look at Leighton Buzzard’s biggest annual events that bring 1000s of people together.
Spring
April
The first big event of the year is the Mayor’s Spring Fair. This fundraising event raises money for the Town Mayor’s chosen charities. The event is free to attend and features stalls fun and entertainment for all. It usually takes place at the end of April. May
The May Day Fayre. Attracting thousands of people to Leighton Buzzard it is a firm favourite on the local calendar. This family fun day is free to attend and is hosted by Leighton-Linslade Rotary Club. The High Street is taken over with live entertainment, stalls and fairground rides and spills into Parson’s Green Recreation Ground where the main arena is located. The arena hosts a full day of entertainment which has included stunt motorbikes, chainsaw juggling, BMX and fun entertainers. In many years the Rotarians manage to secure a fly-past of historic aeroplanes. It is great for adults and kids alike with more stalls, food and drink vendors to choose from. Summer
June
Leighton Buzzard Pride. The first Leighton Buzzard Pride event was held in 2024 and the town centre fully embraced the representation of our LGBTQ+ community. Shops up and down the High Street are decorated with colour and the event concides with the town’s Charter market. The daytime includes stalls and crafts and walkabout entertainment and the in evening the stage showcases local talents plus more entertainment. It is usually the first Saturday in June Leighton Buzzard Pride and on the Sunday the town council puts on The Big Lunch

July
Buzzstock Music Festival. This family friendly boutique festival sits between Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable and brings 1000s of people together for a weekend of music, glitter, rides and entertainment plus a tasty array of artisan food. Buzzstock started small in 2022 but has been growing year on year. The main stage features the UKs leading tribute acts while the Spotlight Stage supports less well known and local artists. There is onsite overnight parking and camping too. It is usually the first half of July. Find out more on their website

Canal Festival. Situated in the stunning Linslade Tiddenfoot Waterside Park visitors can wander the tow path to see working trades and crafters, admire the boats. There is further fun with a full programme of bands, workshops and entertainment as well as stalls, food and bar. Find out more
Autumn/Winter
Christmas Weekend. Another town centre event that is on everyone’s calendar is the Christmas light switch on and Christmas Weekend. This is usually on the last weekend in November. On the Friday evening is a festive marke featuring handmade crafts and gifts, a funfair, and a stage programme packed full of local acts and performances before and after the switch-on ceremony and fireworks display. The rest of the weekend continues with stalls and walkabout street entertainment. Something for everyone.
