Hi-de-Hi! – Square Drama Circle

Hi-de-Hi! comes to Dunstable as Square Drama Circle celebrates 50 years of community theatre and its landmark 150th production.

Based on the much-loved BBC sitcom by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, this stage adaptation by Paul Carpenter and Ian Gower transports audiences back to the 1950s and Maplins Holiday Camp, where a new season brings romance, rivalry, misunderstandings and plenty of holiday-camp chaos.

Familiar characters including Gladys Pugh, Jeffrey Fairbrother, Peggy Ollerenshaw, Ted Bovis and Spike Dixon return in this affectionate comedy adaptation of one of Britain’s best-loved sitcoms.

The production marks a particularly special moment for Square Drama Circle, which has been performing in Dunstable since 1976 and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.
