Black History Month in Leighton Buzzard
We are at time in world history where forces are doing their best to fuel division and hatred amongst ordinary people. It is now, more important than ever, to acknowledge and celebrate our differences. Black History Month is about celebrating the contributions of everyone in our community whilst learning and understanding the inequalities that still exist and the part we played and can play in irradicating them.
Visit Leighton Buzzard Library between Friday 3rd and Friday 10th October to explore the pop up exhibition from the Movement for Justice and Reconciliation(MJR) and learn more about your history, and just how ‘Black and White’ history are intertwined.
An exhibition very relevant to today as it throws light on the ongoing legacy of the slave trade to today’s society- and the ongoing debate about immigration.
The exhibition is on at Leighton Buzzard Library from Friday 3rd October – Friday 10th October 2025
