Remembering Councillor Steve Jones
Leighton Buzzard and Linslade has lost a longstanding public servant and community volunteer following the death of Councillor Steve Jones.
Steve served for many years on Leighton-Linslade Town Council, including as Leader of the Council, and Town Mayor and helped steer the council through the difficult years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
His contribution to the community extended beyond local government. In 2020, Steve became one of the founding trustees of Leighton Linslade Helpers, a volunteer response to the pandemic into a registered charity supporting local people experiencing hardship.
Through his professional life, public service and voluntary work, Steve made a significant contribution to the Leighton Buzzard and Linslade community.
