Dog Friendly Leighton Buzzard
It’s Crufts week and we are extending a waggy tail to dog friendly spaces in the Leighton Buzzard area
Crufts is on from Thurs 6th – Sun 9th March and is the highlight of the canine calendar. Over 150,000 visitors attended last year accompanied by 20,000 of their beloved pooches.
We are truly a nation of dog lovers and this is true of Leighton Buzzard too, so here is what’s on offer in our area. As always if we leave anyone out please just get in touch.
Doggy Play Park at Cittadina Coffee Shop
Right on the High Street in the middle of Leighton Buzzard is Cittadina Coffee Shop, it’s a lovely place for a coffee but head through the back of the shop and you will find a whole garden dedicated to play for dogs. This wonderful fun zone includes a splash pool, bridges, weeing posts, seesaws and more. A great place for owners and dogs to socialise. See pictures and videos on their Facebook page

More Doggy Play
It isn’t in Leighton Buzzard but over in our close neighbours, Berkhamsted Ross and Friends is sure worth a mention. It is advertised as a dog safari and set over 35 acres it really is pup heaven. Choose from ponds, a ‘ball lagoon’ tunnels, agility equipment and trails with hidden toys and also hot showers and hair dryers!

- Cafe Nero
- Bianco Nero (for takeaway)
Happydashery in the High Street have ice-cream cups for (pictured above) in the summer months and also have baking gifts for dog lovers.

Dog Rescue
Finally we can’t have a dog friendly post without mentioning the wonderful work at Appledown Rehoming and Rescue in Eaton Bray. Bee Local Magazine feature one of their dogs looking for a home every edition. The March edition features the lovely ‘General’

This friendly, affectionate boy is General a crossbreed born in 2018. It was clear to us on his
arrival that General had received very little training despite being around six years old.
He has responded well to the training he has received here and is learning to curb his
enthusiasm and mind his manners! His new family will need to carry on with his training and
ensure he gets the active life that he needs.
He needs a home where he is the only pet, he has company most of the time and any children are aged 7+. Please visit our website for details about adoption and an application form.
To support our work you can make a one- off donation of £3 by texting APPLE to 70111, or donate via Paypal using the ‘DONATE Support a Cause’ option. Cheques are very welcome too.
